About You Know Literature

You Know Literature is a collection of research starting points for students.

The most difficult aspect of carrying out research isn't the research itself, but deciding where to start. Even when you have a subject that interests you, it can take time to turn that interest into a specific question, locate other studies, and work out where your idea fits.

That's the purpose of You Know Literature.

I gather topics, questions, ideas, and areas for research that could make that first move a bit easier.

I set up You Know Literature as a place for storing things worth exploring.

The way a topic appears can be quite different depending on the approach you take, and looking at what other people have studied can help you notice questions you may not have thought of before.

It's intended to assist with that.

It won't produce a fully completed research paper, and it isn't intended to tell you precisely what research you should carry out. Instead, think of it as a starting point — something that allows you to look around, become curious, and decide where you'd like to go from there.

As the collection grows, you'll find things like topic overviews and research starting points, possible research problems and questions, variables worth exploring, related literature and related studies, Philippine and local studies where relevant, and resources for finding and evaluating information.

More will be added over time.

Begin with something that interests you.

Take a close look at the topic, think about the different questions and potential areas of investigation, and then follow the sources that interest you. From there, you can refine your idea, examine what earlier researchers have discovered, and begin developing your own research.

You don't need to work out all the details at once.

The purpose of You Know Literature isn't to carry out the research for you. It's simply to make beginning a little less intimidating.
